Workshops: Knit a Vest of Your Choice with Sylvia Olsen

$325.00

Product Description

Knit a Vest of Your Choice with Sylvia Olsen
Be inspired by Coast Salish style knitting and learn Salish Fusion knitting methods along with Sylvia's favourite techniques from around the world.

This three-day intensive workshop, limited to 15 participants, explores knitting techniques Sylvia calls Salish Fusion—inspired by Coast Salish knitters and fused with her own favourite knitting methods. While the class knits together, participants will learn the colourwork method made popular by the Cowichan sweater and Sylvia will demonstrate seams without sewing, knitting on collars, installing zippers, and inserting pockets after the fact. The kit for the class (purchased separately) includes a pattern (child or adult) for a vest and yarn from Custom Woolen Mills. The kit will be mailed to participants beforehand and will need to be worked up to the first colourwork band so everyone is ready to start together. Sylvia is a knitting story-teller so be ready for an enriching three days of fusion and fun.
